Being married not only means you get to spend the rest of your life with the person you love, but it has some other pretty great perks, too. Read on to find out why we think being married rocks!
You've got a cheerleader for life!
Had a bad day at the office? Car break down on the way home? Forget about it, your number one fan will be waiting to pick you right back up! Whether you're trying out a new hobby or pushing for that big promotion, they'll be there to cheer you on all the way. You pair make one heck of a team!
Partners in crime
You've got no problem having to deal with the day-to-day things like doing the food shop, bringing the dog to the vet or sorting a plumber to come round. But it's so much better setting up a tag team system to get the boring stuff out of the way. Plus, how handy is it knowing someone has your back and will get you out of that soul-destroying school reunion, at the drop of a hat?!
You get to be all kinds of goofy and weird, knowing that they love you for that very reason! Whether you just want to watch Jurassic Park in your PJs, dance around the living room to Beyoncé or indeed, stroll down the road with giant bear heads on – they're with you all the way. HELL YES!
Sometimes you don't even need to use words, you just give them 'that look' and they know exactly what you mean. Whether it's a "don't you dare think about it" or "let's get the hell out of this party" look - they just know.
...without being judged for sounding like an absolute bag of cats. Being married means you can be 100% yourself, 100% of the time. You always have someone to sing, dance and laugh with (or at) you - or at the very least someone to lovingly roll their eyes at you for being a weirdo!
Can't even card
There's nothing worse than when you're feeling sicker than a small hospital and the actual thoughts of having to pop down to the chemist to get the essentials, makes you want to cry (inside and out). This is where your other half steps in with tissues, chicken soup and cough bottles, galore. In sickness and in health, right?
Someone who accepts you for who you are...
...craziness and all. You've found the one person who couldn't love you more if they tried - even if you do have some crazy past baggage, they don't mind sticking around to help unpack. Bonus: sleepovers with your best friend, every single night - cuddle buddy for life, yo!
Being married to your best friend and going on an adventure
Sure, it's not just you anymore and now you have someone else to consider. You might have to get used to their habits and let them get used to yours, and you may have the odd fight, but let's face it, who doesn't? The main thing is they're in it for the long run and this crazy new adventure is just beginning. Woohoo!
