If you haven't heard, Darver Castle is our beautiful Venue of the Month for March 2019, and for more than one good reason. With that in mind, we thought we'd bring you just seven of the reasons to get married at this stunning castle.

1. Exclusive venue

As a family run venue, they have a one wedding per day policy, meaning you and your guests are the wedding team's priority on your big day. They're not a typical hotel, and the venue specialises in weddings, so you know you're going to be looked after.

2. The beautiful setting

Enter Darver Castle by driving down the sweeping driveway through 50 acres of Co Louth countryside. Expect manicured lawns and mature trees before you reach the stunning stone castle - as you come up the driveway, you'll surely have picked out some gorgeous photo spots for your portraits.

3. Arrival reception with a difference

The ground floor of the castle is the oldest part, dating back to the 16th century. Sip champagne in the gallery, sit back in the old world kitchen with a tea and scone, or enjoy a Guinness in Duffy's traditional bar - your arrival reception is your choice!

4. The delicious menu

Darver Castle have dedicated on-site chefs, and they create the most delicious menu for your guests. Enjoy everything from a chargrilled fillet steak in the afternoon to fish and chips in the evening. Their chefs offer a wide range of choices and can cater for all dietary needs, as well.

5. The banquet hall

Your guests will be dining in the banquet hall, which blends old world elegance with modern day comforts. They can cater for between 50-280 guests and the room is completed with exposed beams and stone cut walls, filled with character and charm.

6. Extensive accommodation

Even though it's not a hotel, they do have over 40 rooms on site to cater for guests wishing to say. The bridal suit offers 4-poster luxury in a beautifully restored room, and there's a glamorous bridal preparation room, where you and your bridal party can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast while you pamper for the day ahead.

7. Your ceremony

There are a number of locations you can hold your ceremony at Darver Castle, including the popular intimate courtyard ceremony room, which can seat up to 150 guests. Gorgeous outdoor ceremonies can be held in the walled garden also, if you'd prefer to get wed outside.
