Nothing beats the stately grandeur of an Irish country house. And yet, there’s something so homely and comforting about their tranquil settings. Here are ten of our favourite country wedding venues in Ireland.

1. Gloster House and Gardens

Gloster House is a new and exciting, privately-owned and completely exclusive wedding venue in Birr, Co. Offaly. Centrally located in the Irish midlands, the unique 300-year-old stately home is set within a 150 acre demesne. It has extensive gardens incorporating Italianate terraces, fountains, ponds, lakes and woodland walks.

"This beautiful and historic early-Georgian house has been extensively and sensitively restored in recent years and has regained its former glory and character while incorporating all the up-to-date comforts of modern life. The architecture in the house is both unique and breath-taking with stunning baroque plasterwork in the double-height entrance hall, a large first floor gallery with fireplaces at each end together with a number of gracious reception rooms. No two weddings at Gloster House will be the same. Our philosophy is to be as flexible as possible so that your celebration is unique in a house that is exclusively available to you and your guests."
