Bloom 2019 is almost upon us and to celebrate, The Ivy has gone bloom mad. They've set up a beautiful floral installation, they're offering delicious limited-edition menu items and are hosting a masterclass with Appassionata. If you're thinking of going all DIY with your floral arrangements, then read on.
Popping up outside the brasserie from Friday the 24th of May to Tuesday the 4th of June will be an eye-catching floral display, featuring a range of colourful blooms such as hydrangea, peonies, roses, and dahlias for guests and passers-by to enjoy. Think of it as your very own selfie setup in the city.
Not only that, but the bar team has created two delicious cocktails; Like A Red, Red Rose (€10.50), featuring Glendalough Rose Gin, Gabriel Boudier Rose Liqueur, cranberry juice, Jeio Prosecco and garnished with a red rose petal.
The second is the Dingle Blooms (€10.50), incorporating Dingle Gin, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, Fever-Tree elderflower tonic and a garnish of edible flowers. You'd have to have one of each, of course.
Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy a limited-edition dessert, The Tulipa, with white chocolate mousse, raspberries, meringue and petals, priced at €10.50. It really is a work of art!
The Ivy Dawson Street will also be hosting a summer terrarium workshop in the restaurant’s private dining room in partnership with Appassionata Flowers. This will take place on Tuesday the 28th of May, for those wishing to try their hand at flower arranging. It's ideal for DIY brides-to-be who want to get creative and put together their own floral wedding arrangements.
Tickets are priced at €60 per person and available to purchase here. As well as enjoying the workshop led by Appassionata’s Ruth Monahan, guests will be able to enjoy a glass of Champagne and canapés, before taking their terrarium home. Sounds fabulous!
The installation, two bespoke cocktails, and Tulipa dessert will be available from Friday the 24th of May to Tuesday the 4th of June.
