What's in Maura Higgins' makeup bag?

When Longford-born Maura Higgins entered the Love Island villa this summer, she turned heads for all manner of reasons. The outspoken Irish gal quickly became an unlikely feminist hero with her no-nonsense attitude to sex and refusal to tolerate crappy behaviour from some of the villa's male residents... and we were so here for it.

But of course, when you look THAT good doing it, everyone wants to know your beauty secrets. We sat down with the newly crowned queen of Ireland last week to find out exactly what's in her makeup stash. (Side note: She is just as fabulous in real life and an absolute DOTE!)

Long before she exploded on to our screens, Maura worked with luxury Irish tanning brand, Bellamianta. She even brought a big bag of products with her into the villa. “All the islanders were using my Bellamianta products." Eagle-eyed viewers will have spotted Maura's fellow islander and pal, Anna Vakili applying a mystery product to her face with a makeup brush most nights on the show. At last, we know what it was: "Anna used Bella Liquid Gold every night in the villa.”

When asked what her top three Bellamianta products were, she didn't hesitate to answer: “It would definitely be the Bella Liquid Gold - I absolutely love it. And the new bronzer and the Flawless Filter Body Makeup.”

Bellamianta Flawless Filter Body Makeup (€21.99) | Bellamianta Skin Perfecting Illuminating Bronzing Powder (€21.99) |  Bellamianta Liquid Gold Self Tanning Tinted Liquid (€12.99)

Tanning aside, what else lies within Maura Higgin's makeup bag? "I use a bit of everything. For foundation, I use Georgia Armani mixed with Mac. I’m not fussy about lip gloss. I'd use a lot of Rimmel or whatever I can get my hands on really."

Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation €49 | Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Lip Gloss €6.99 | MAC Pro Longwear Studio Fix Fluid €36.50

Of course, we couldn't miss the opportunity to inquire if wedding bells are on the cards for her and Love Island beau Curtis Pritchard. When we asked if she's going to marry the dancer, she simply answered: "I hope to", with a huge smile. Watch this space, Confetti fans.
